Coffee is awesome... until it's too much. Reach on to discover how I enjoy coffee without the dreaded caffeine crash!

My mornings as a personal trainer in Eugene, Oregon start early: I train my first clients at 4:45 am. Waking up in the darkness isn’t always awesome, so a warm cup of coffee helps me get my mind right for an energetic session.


Unfortunately, I used to overdo it on the coffee, drinking large quantities all day long. This wrecked my sleep and made me more sluggish the next day.


Currently I enjoy much more energy, by keeping it to one enjoyable cup of coffee in the morning and trying to eat breakfast with my coffee. If I need a caffeine boost later in the day, I drink tea. It has much less caffeine and provides a sustainable amount of energy.


Caffeine has a 6 hour half life, which means if you drink coffee at noon, half of it is still in your system by 6pm. Keep this in mind and cut off the coffee sooner rather than later for a restorative night of sleep so you can be laser focused and ready to rock and roll the next day!
